Padding/Patting, 2019
Embedding poly-fil into a hand- sewn and dyed piece of fabric, this blanket-like form dances with my body, wind, and the landscape now a part of the Southern Willamette State Park in Lowell, Oregon. The padded surface moves with my body as I curl up inside of it, or cushions it as I rest on the jagged ground. I question how I move the soft shield over landscape in a State Park, but yet cannot protect it; and reciprocally question my own body’s false protection.
